In the October 2023 application round, the Finnish Cultural Foundation is awarding approximately 600,000 euros for science education of children and young people. The purpose of this Discover Science Grant is to encourage the interest of children and the youth in science and enable science education equally for children and the youth regardless of their place of residence and background. In addition, its purpose is to improve the ability of children and the youth to acquire, handle and evaluate new information as well as their possibilities to follow science and its development.

In the Discover Science projects, children and young people are introduced to different fields of science in an easy-to-grasp manner. In addition, they offer a meeting through researchers, a university contact, or both.
