The Online Application Service contains a test application form with which you may acquaint yourself outside the grant application periods.

1.    Read the guidelines

Read the guidelines for applying and filling in the application form carefully. The guidelines are subject to change each year. The application form contains instructions, as well.

See Grants open for applications: many grants have their own guidelines and different regional funds their own emphases.

2.    Draw up your application carefully

Fill in the application form in the Online Application Service as it applies to you. You do not need to complete the application in one sitting – you may continue to revise your draft until you submit it.

The most important parts of the application are the work plan and its summary and, when applying for an expenditure grant, the budget. Clearly state the purpose for which you are applying a grant.

3.    Remember the attachments

Append all requested attachments to your application. Do not depend solely on links with information relevant to the evaluation.

4.    Check whether you need references to support your application

Ask the referee to submit their reference on the Online Reference Service, which closes at 4 pm local Finnish time (Eastern European Time) on the deadline day.

5.    Submit your application in time

The application service closes at 4 pm local Finnish time (Eastern European Time) on the deadline day. Take into account that the service becomes congested in the final hours.

After submitting the application, make sure that the status of your application changes to “sent/submitted” on the Online Application Service. The Cultural Foundation does not process application drafts. It is not possible to submit your application through any channel whatsoever once the deadline has passed.

6.    Notify the Foundation of any funding received after the application period

If you receive funding for your work or project from another source after submitting the application, inform the Foundation through the Online Application Service.
