The purpose of the mobility grant is to enable artists to spend time abroad to discover new tools and networks that support their art practise.

Applicants must spend a minimum of two weeks at the destination to qualify for the grant. Expenses from several trips can be collected under a single application, provided that they belong to the same project, occur within one year and include one trip lasting at least two weeks. The applicant may also be a working group or registered organisation, such as an association, in which case the duration requirement for a single participant is one week.

Grants may be sought for expenses ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 euros. Acceptable uses of the grant include e.g. residency costs, participation in a festival, exhibition project or international collaboration. The mobility grant application cannot be used to apply for a working grant; working must be funded by other means.

In one application period, you may apply either for a residency offered by the Finnish Cultural Foundation or for a mobility grant, not both. Applications can be submitted between 10 August and 31 August using the online service of the Finnish Cultural Foundation. The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. EET on 31 August.
