The Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition, organised every five years by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, counts among the most prestigious competitions of its kind in the world.

The VII Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition was held in Helsinki on 4–13 August 2014.

Designed for outstanding, experienced young singers, the Mirjam Helin has a reputation for being one of the leading international singing competitions, and one with the highest of standards. It has a broad and exacting repertoire, superb prizes and a prestigious jury. Many former prizewinners, such as Olaf Bär, Elīna Garanča, René Pape, Andrea Rost and Julia Lezhneva, have risen to the top of the world of singing.

The chairman of the 2014 jury was Artistic Director at Savonlinna Opera Festival Jorma Silvasti. The members are Franz Grundheber, Maria Guleghina, Ben Heppner, Robert Holl, Andrea Rost, Nathalie Stutzmann and Deborah Voigt.

The next competition will be held in summer 2019.
